One person was killed and eight were injured in an overnight Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian city of Taganrog in the Rostov region, Governor Yury Slyusar said Monday.
In a statement on Telegram, Slyusar described the drone attack as "the most powerful" since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. "More than 60 drones were destroyed during a massive attack in Taganrog and six districts of the Rostov region," he said, adding that 12 apartment buildings, 27 private houses, 10 cars, and three businesses were damaged.
In a separate statement, the Russian Defense Ministry said 102 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight across multiple Russian regions.
In the city of Tolyatti in Samara region, an industrial facility also came under attack. "Early this morning, enemy unmanned aerial vehicles attacked an industrial facility in Tolyatti. There are no casualties. Residential and social facilities were not damaged. Emergency services are conducting operations," Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said on Telegram.
Ukrainian media, citing sources, confirmed the attack on Tolyatti, noting it was directed at the KuibyshevAzot chemical plant, which produces substances used among other things for manufacturing explosives.
