Zelenskyy discusses drone cooperation, air defense with officials from Denmark, Faroe Islands
Ukrainian president thanks Denmark for support, highlights joint defense production and humanitarian aid

ISTANBUL
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday met with Troels Lund Poulsen, Denmark’s deputy prime minister and defense minister, and Sirio Simona Stenberg, the Faroe Islands foreign minister, to discuss deepening military cooperation and boosting Ukraine’s drone and air defense capabilities.
Zelenskyy said their talks focused on frontline drone use, interceptors, and long-range strike capacities.
“We had a detailed discussion on our military needs, strengthening air defense, countering Russian missile threats, and developing joint defense production,” he said on X.
He added that Ukraine aims to expand the “Danish model” by increasing investment and launching Ukrainian production on Danish soil.
“I am grateful to Denmark and the Danish people for supporting Ukraine’s defense. Thank you for the humanitarian aid and the truly successful projects we are implementing together,” Zelenskyy said.
Denmark has been a key contributor of military and humanitarian assistance to Kyiv since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in 2022. Copenhagen’s recent support includes air defense systems, demining equipment, and aid for Ukrainian infrastructure reconstruction.
The Faroe Islands are an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark.
