UN agency shares footage showing scale of Gaza destruction after 2 years of Israeli attacks
UNRWA says famine confirmed in Gaza governorate, with at least 455 deaths linked to malnutrition

ISTANBUL
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) released on Wednesday new footage revealing the extent of the humanitarian crisis and destruction in the Gaza Strip, two years into Israel’s ongoing attacks on the enclave.
The video, shared on the US social media company X, was compiled from dashboard cameras of UNRWA vehicles operating in Gaza. It shows scenes of extensive devastation following relentless Israeli bombardments, with entire streets and neighborhoods reduced to rubble.
In one scene, the body of a Palestinian killed in an Israeli strike is seen lying by the roadside. Another video shows groups of displaced Palestinians, mostly women and children, walking with their hands raised and white cloths in hand as they flee from one shattered area to another.
The footage also includes radio conversations among UNRWA staff, with one worker heard saying: “Another school is gone,” referring to the destruction of yet another UN-run facility. Another clip shows Israeli soldiers firing warning shots near a UNRWA convoy attempting to move through a street.
The UN agency said that many of its schools sheltering displaced Palestinians have been bombed multiple times and that numerous agency buildings have been destroyed since the start of Israel’s offensive.
The agency said famine has been confirmed in the Gaza governorate, with at least 455 deaths linked to malnutrition. It added that almost all cropland in the enclave has been damaged, rendered inaccessible, or both.
UNRWA stressed that Israel has blocked the agency from bringing in humanitarian aid for more than seven months, despite its readiness to supply enough food for the entire population for three months.
The UN agency renewed its call for Israel to lift the siege and allow the entry of life-saving aid into Gaza.
