UK begins 4 days of celebrations for 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day
11 members of Ukrainian military join special military procession to Buckingham Palace for VE Day

ISTANBUL
The UK on Monday began four days of celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day.
King Charles saluted a military procession making its way to Buckingham Palace, according to the BBC.
Along with Charles, Queen Camilla and the prince and princess of Wales as well as Prime Minister Keir Starmer were present to watch the parade.
Eleven members of the Ukrainian military also marched with other regiments during the procession. Britain has been one of Ukraine’s top proponents in its current war with Russia.
The royal family along with thousands of people headed towards Buckingham Palace to watch a flypast featuring the Red Arrows, the aerobatic team of the Royal Air Force.
Charles and Camilla along with other senior members of the royal family are then expected to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony, after which street parties and get-togethers will be held.
VE Day is the day celebrating the formal acceptance by the Allies of Germany's unconditional surrender during of World War II. May 8 this year marks the 80th anniversary.
