ISLAMABAD

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto accused some European politicians on Thursday of attempting to undermine Ukraine peace negotiations.

It is shocking to see that some European politicians are deciding to prolong the war in Ukraine, Szijjarto said at a joint press conference with his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar in the capital Islamabad.

"It's shocking to see that while the entire world, including the Americas, Asia, and Africa, is in favor of peace returning to Europe, it is the European politicians going against peace," he said.

This attitude is "unacceptable," he remarked.

He called on European politicians not to undermine US President Donald Trump's efforts to restore peace in Central Europe.

Szijjarto, who arrived in Islamabad on Thursday morning, met with Dar and agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various areas, including trade and the economy.

Dar, for his part, said they also discussed the regional and international situation, specifically Afghanistan.

Dar, who is also the deputy prime minister, has announced that he will visit Kabul in the coming days to improve relations with Afghanistan.
