LONDON
A Romanian woman, who got severely injured during the London terror attack two weeks ago, died on Thursday, British police said Friday.
The 31-year old victim, Andreea Cristea, had fallen into the River Thames from the Westminster Bridge during the attack and later pulled out in a critical condition.
A statement by Cristea’s family said they were “deeply touched and eternally grateful” for the efforts of medics who had tried to save her.
Cristea’s death brought the total death toll in London attack to five.
A British man identified as Khalid Masood carried out the attack on March 22, mowing down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before attacking police outside parliament.
Three civilians were killed on the bridge, a police officer was stabbed to death outside the parliament and dozens were injured in the attack.
Masood was shot dead moments after his deadly attack.
Daesh had claimed the attack, but British authorities said there was no evidence linking him to that terror group or al-Qaeda.
