Pro-Palestinians rally near Israeli Embassy in Athens to protest genocide in Gaza
Crowd chants ‘Freedom to Palestine’ and ‘Victory to Palestine’ in show of solidarity

ATHENS
Protesters gathered near the Israeli Embassy in Athens on Tuesday night to denounce Israel's genocide in Gaza, which has been ongoing since October 7, 2023, and to express solidarity with Palestinians in the enclave and the occupied West Bank.
The crowd, mostly made up of self-described anarchists and pro-Palestinian activists, carried Palestinian flags and banners and chanted slogans such as "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," "Victory to Palestine," and "End genocide in Gaza."
Israel has killed nearly 63,000 Palestinians in Gaza since launching its military campaign in October 2023. The offensive has devastated the enclave, leaving much of it uninhabitable and pushing its population to the brink of famine.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its actions in the enclave.
