STOCKHOLM

Journalists killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip were commemorated Thursday in a demonstration in the Swedish capital.

A group gathered at Sergels Torg Square after a request by NGOs and placed photographs of killed journalists.

A video featuring the work of murdered and injured journalists in difficult times was watched by attendees via a large screen set up in the area.

More than 75 journalists were killed and 140 wounded in Israeli attacks since Oct. 7.

Carrying Palestinian flags, protesters chanted pro-Palestinian slogans, including "Free Palestine" and "End the occupation."

They urged a boycott of Israeli products and brands which have reportedly expressed support for Israel.

Israel resumed its military offensive on the Gaza Strip on Dec. 1 after the end of a weeklong humanitarian pause with the Palestinian group, Hamas.

At least 17,177 Palestinians have been killed and more than 46,000 injured in relentless air and ground attacks on the enclave since Oct. 7 following a cross-border attack by Hamas.

The Israeli death toll in the Hamas attack stood at 1,200, according to official figures.
