French football veteran Franck Ribery moved to Salernitana on Monday, the Italian Serie A club said. 

In a statement, Salernitana said that Ribery, 38, signed a one-season deal that will keep him at Arechi Stadium in Salerno until June 30, 2022.

Ribery was welcomed by Salernitana players and a large number of fans at the stadium.

During his football career, he has played for Metz, Galatasaray, Olympique Marseille, Bayern Munich and Fiorentina.

The former French international was a longtime Bayern Munich player who helped win the 2013 UEFA Champions League and nine German Bundesliga titles.

Ribery was part of the France squad during the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany as the team was the World Cup runners-up. Italy won the 2006 World Cup, beating France 5-3 on penalties in the final.

In the 2020-21 season, Ribery scored two goals and produced seven assists in 30 matches for Fiorentina.

He previously left Fiorentina to be a free agent in July.
