French foreign minister denounces ‘unacceptable attack’ on Catholic Holy Family Church in Gaza

BRUSSELS

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot denounced an "unacceptable attack” on Thursday on a Catholic church in the Gaza Strip.

"Unacceptable attack in Gaza on the Holy Family Church, historically under France’s protection," he wrote on X.

Barrot expressed France's solidarity with the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem. "These attacks are intolerable; it is time for the carnage in Gaza to stop," he added.

Two people were killed and several injured, including the parish priest of the church, when Israeli warplanes struck the building in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City.
