Czech police arrest man over bomb threat email to presidential office

ATHENS

Czech police arrested a man for allegedly sending a bomb threat email to the presidential office, local media reported on Wednesday.

The man claimed that explosives installed at Prague Castle, where the office is located, could be set off remotely, according to Radio Prague International.

The police’s extremism and terrorism unit is investigating the incident and the suspect could face up to three years in jail for spreading false alarm.

Responding to the bomb threat email, Czech President Petr Pavel said it was an “action of a frustrated individual,” according to the broadcaster.
