A one-year old Bosnian child, who was diagnosed with a tumor and brought to Turkey seven months ago for surgery, lost his life, according to medical officials.

After being diagnosed with a brain tumor, Arslan Kulacic was brought to Turkey on Jan. 30 via an air ambulance and had an operation at Istanbul’s Acibadem Hospital.

Kulacic could not be saved despite all medical efforts on late Tuesday.

His body will be sent to his country.

A fund-raising campaign for the child was launched in Bosnia and Herzegovina and it managed to collect €133,000 ($166,160) for his treatment.

His first birthday was also celebrated in the hospital room on July 5.
