Belgium on Thursday called on Israel to end its military interventions in Syria and respect the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"Israel should halt military interventions and respect the sovereignty & territorial integrity of Syria," the Belgian Foreign Ministry wrote on X.

It voiced Belgium's "deep concern" over the recent inter-community clashes in Syria and called for "immediate de-escalation, parallel to reconciliation efforts and transparent investigation."

The Israeli army targeted Syrian army forces in Suwayda province, which were deployed there after clashes between Druze militias and Bedouin groups.

Syria’s Interior Ministry said that more than 30 people have been killed and nearly 100 others injured in the violence.
