ANKARA

Two pilots were killed when two fighter jets collided in eastern France, while a third ejected from the plane and survived, according to official reports.

The accident involving two Rafale jets took place in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle, west of the city of Strasbourg, Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu announced on X on Wednesday.

One pilot was found alive, he said.

The French Air and Space Force said that the two aircraft collided while returning from a supply mission in Germany.

French President Emmanuel Macron and Minister Sebastien Lecornu expressed their condolences on X and their support for the pilots’ families.
