Swedish wind farm developer Eolus announced Tuesday that it signed an agreement with Siemens Gamesa for the delivery of seven wind turbines with a combined capacity of 30 megawatts (MW) for the Stigafjellet wind farm in Norway.
The seven SWT-DD 130 turbines have an output of 4.3 MW each and will be built in the wind farm, located in Bjerkreim, south of Stavanger, according to a press release from the company.
Eolus also signed a five-year full service agreement with Siemens Gamesa.
Back in July, Eolus announced the sale of the farm to major Swiss energy services company ewz for €40.7 million.
Eolus will build the wind farm and ewz will contribute funding during construction, the statement said, adding the farm would be commissioned during the second half of 2020.
The wind farm is the first wind farm Eolus will complete in Norway, it noted.
Eolus Vind is one of the leading developers of wind power plants in the Nordic region, having participated in the construction of more than 500 of the approximately 3,400 wind turbines currently in Sweden, according to the statement.
In total, Eolu's operating organization manages approximately 350 MW of wind power, it said.
Ewz invests heavily in the expansion and promotion of new renewable energies for safe and ecological power supply. The company also offers innovative telecom and network services as well as energy contracting.
