Türkiye's total oil imports decreased by 2% to 3.7 million tons in January compared to the same month in 2025, according to recent data released by the country's energy watchdog.
Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, rose by 12.8% in January to 2.7 million tons, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly report.
Türkiye imported the majority of its crude oil and oil product needs from Russia, totaling 1.8 million tons. Iraq and Saudi Arabia followed with 518,931 tons and 335,525 tons, respectively.
Total exports in the oil market decreased by 26.8%, to 1.07 million tons.
Additionally, total domestic oil product sales increased by 0.7% year-over-year to 2.4 million tons.
