Türkiye's electricity production in March decreased by around 0.1%, compared to the same period last year, data from the country's energy watchdog showed on Thursday.
Total electricity generation totaled around 26.21 million megawatt-hours (MWh) in March, Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) announced in its latest electricity market report.
The country produced electricity from several sources including 22.3% from imported coal, 20.7% from natural gas, 20.6% from hydropower, and 13.2% from wind plants.
Lignite, geothermal, biomass, solar power, hard coal, asphaltite, and fuel oil generated the remaining share.
Electricity consumption in March increased to around 22.42 million MWh, marking a 1.4% growth year-on-year.
Installed electricity capacity rose by 1.5% to 97,750 megawatts in March, relative to March 2024.
Natural gas power plants comprised 25% of electricity installed capacity, while hydropower and wind plants accounted for 24.4% and 13.4%, respectively.
Imported coal, lignite, run-of-river hydroelectricity, solar power, biomass, geothermal, hard coal, asphaltite, and fuel oil also contributed to the installed capacity.
