Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 14.1% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 627,534 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 30,882 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 22,324 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 627,758 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a decrease of 13.9% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from hydroelectric plants constituted 21.1% of total generation, while imported coal plants and lignite plants contributed 18.4% and 13%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 5,747 megawatt-hours and its imports totaled 5,522 megawatt-hours.
