Russian energy company Gazprom has started pumping gas to five underground storage facilities in Europe for November, the company confirmed on Tuesday.
“Gazprom has approved the plan for the pumping of gas to five underground storage facilities in Europe for November and has started its implementation,” the statement read.
On Oct. 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed Gazprom to increase its natural gas supplies to storage facilities in Europe, after filling Russian gas storage facilities.
This should offer some relief to the European gas market, which has seen prices surges and supply shortages.
