Danish renewable energy company Orsted and Milton Abbey, a U.K. independent, co-educational day and boarding school located in Milton Abbas, Dorset signed a 18-year agreement to become the school's energy service provider, Orsted announced on Tuesday.
Orsted said it would help Milton Abbey use energy in a much smarter way, ultimately reducing consumption and costs.
The Danish company will take over all management and maintenance of the school’s heating system, including three biomass boilers.
The company will also optimize performance of the heating system by 35 percent and manage purchasing of biomass pellets.
'We have worked extremely closely with Milton Abbey on this long-term partnership to really understand the fantastic site on which the school is based and how energy use can be optimized. We’re delighted to be taking over the school’s energy management,' said Jeff Whittingham, managing director for Orsted U.K. Sales.
