Norway's total sales of petroleum products fell 7.4% to 602 million liters in March compared to the same month last year, according to Statistics Norway on Wednesday.
However, for gasoline sales, the statistics office said the volume increased by 10.8% to 72 million liters.
Sales of diesel amounted to 244 million liters - an increase of 16 million liters compared to March last year.
The country's statistics authority has produced data collated from the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, the Norwegian Petroleum Institute and oil companies since 1973.
