Norway's total sales of petroleum products decreased by 2.5% to 689 million liters in August compared to the same month last year, according to Statistics Norway on Tuesday.
For gasoline sales, the statistics office said the volume decreased by 3% to 97 million liters.
Sales of diesel amounted to 257 million liters - a decrease of 2.3% compared to August last year.
The country's statistics authority has produced data collated from the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, the Norwegian Petroleum Institute and oil companies since 1973.
