Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 750,923 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 35,372 megawatt-hours at 20.00 local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,643 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 750,609 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.6% decrease from Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.3% of total electricity consumption, wind plants contributed 17.4% while lignite plants comprised 16.2%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,291 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 12,632 megawatt-hours.
