Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends day at record level

ISTANBUL

Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended at 6,807.96 points Thursday, hitting a historical-high close, up 0.95% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 6,799.44 points, the Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 64.1 points from Wednesday's close.

The lowest value of the index during the day was 6,766.32, while its daily high was 6,841.60.

The market value of BIST 100 was around 5.8 trillion Turkish liras ($217.15 billion) by market close.

The daily trading volume was 73 billion Turkish liras ($2.7 billion).

Some 67 stocks gained value while 32 lost.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,944.65, while Brent crude oil sold for $83.70 per barrel as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.9440, the euro/lira exchange rate was 29.6300, while the British pound traded at 34.6340 Turkish liras.
