ISTANBUL

Türkiye posted a current account deficit of $2.87 billion in November 2024, in line with expectations, according to the Central Bank figures on Monday.

The current account balance — excluding gold and energy — indicated a net surplus of $3.4 billion, while the goods deficit recorded $5.2 billion.

Services saw a net surplus of $3.7 billion in November, with $1.34 billion net inflows in transportation and $2.63 billion in travel.

The annualized current account deficit deepened to $7.4 billion in November, while goods recorded a deficit of $54.6 billion.

"In the same period, services and secondary income realized a surplus of USD 60.9 billion and USD 565 million, respectively, while the primary income recorded a net deficit of USD 14.3 billion," the bank noted.
