Turkish stock exchange climbs 1.3% at Tuesday's close
Benchmark BIST 100 index earns 164.63 points at closing session
ISTANBUL
The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 12,790.98 points, up 1.3% from the previous close.
After starting the day at 12,650.59, the BIST 100 index gained 164.63 points from the close on Monday.
The lowest point for the index during the day was 12,634.88, while the daily high was 12,848.67.
As many as 72 indexes gained in value, while 26 closed the day with losses.
The total transaction volume reached 148.8 billion Turkish liras ($3.34 billion), while the overall value of the index was 12.43 trillion liras ($280.2 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 44.4795 as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 51.3190, and the GBP/TRY traded at 58.8025.
The price of gold was $4,616.30 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent crude futures was $107.25.
