Turkey: Unemployment holds at 10.1 percent in August

The unemployment rate in Turkey remained unchanged at 10.1 percent in August from the same month in the previous year, the Turkish Statistical Authority reported on Monday.

The employment rate rose 0.7 percent from August 2014, to reach 46.8 percent, according to the report.

The labor force participation rate rose 0.9 percentage point in August year-on-year, to 52.1 percent.

The number of women participating in workforce advanced 1.2 percentage points from the previous year to 32.1 percent.

Among the labor force aged between 15-64 years, the unemployment rate also remained unchanged at 10.3 percent.

But unemployment saw an 0.3 percentage point increase from July to August, according to report.
