Japan keeps interest rates unchanged
After unexpected hike in March, Bank of Japan keeps rate constant in April meeting
ISTANBUL
The Bank of Japan kept its policy interest rates unchanged on Friday.
The bank has ended a negative rate era in its March meeting, increasing the rate from minus 0.1% to 0.1% after a 17-year period.
After the new decision, the US dollar/Japanese yen exchange rate, which was at 154 level at the beginning of the week, is closing at 157.
The bank stated its confidence to reach its 2% inflation target, with the rate above 2% since April 2022.
