LONDON (AA) - September 21, 2012 - Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan on Friday visited the headquarters of the British Lloyd's insurance company in London.
Babacan was given a tour of the company and had a chance to receive information on the company's activities from senior officials.
Ali Babacan attended a meeting with the CEO of Lloyd's John Nelson and General Manager Richard Ward.
Following the meeting, Babacan and Lloyd's officials proceeded to lunch.
Lloyd's company wishes to open a representation in Istanbul to serve new and existing clients.
Lloyd's company believes Istanbul is a crucial center for the Middle East, Central Asia, North Africa and Eastern Europe.
Ali Babacan will return to Turkey on Friday after completing talks.
