ANKARA
Turkey's benchmark stock index started the day with a 220.83-point increase to open at 107,920.55 points on Monday.
On the first transaction day of the week, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.21 percent.
The banking and holding indexes rose 0.11 percent and 0.21 percent, respectively.
All the sector indexes gained in value; the investment trust increased the most, by 0.74 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 3.5320 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Monday, compared with 3.53 at Friday's close.
