Asian markets close mixed as investors await US inflation data

ANKARA

Major stock markets in Asia closed mixed on Tuesday, as investors waited for the US inflation data for August.

Investors were waiting for the inflation data to find clues on the US economy and the Fed's future monetary policy steps.


Also, China's regulatory steps and the process of Evergrande Group will be at the center of Asian markets.

While an inspector was appointed to reveal the company's financial situation, it has faced protests from many quarters.


The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, stay flat with almost no gains.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 stock exchange rose 222.73 points, or 0.73%, to 30,670 while the Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, lost over 331 points, or 1.21%, to 25,502.

China's Shanghai stock exchange diminished 52.77 points, or 1.42%, to 3,662 points.
