Films set to compete for the Golden Lion award at the Venice Film Festival were announced Tuesday.
The festival will feature 21 diverse films in the main competition lineup from Aug. 27 to Sept. 6.
Films to be showcased include Olivier Assayas' The Wizard of the Kremlin; Noah Baumbach's Jay Kelly starring George Clooney and Adam Sandler; The Voice of Hind Rajab by Kaouther ben Hania; Frankenstein by Guillermo Del Toro; Jim Jarmusch’s Father Mother Sister Brother starring by Adam Driver and Cate Blanchettl Yorgos Lanthimos’ Bugonia staring Emma Stone, Benny Safdie’s The Smashing Machine staring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt and Paolo Sorrentino’s La Grazia.
US director Alexander Payne will lead the jury for the Golden Lion award.
