BEIJING
Turkey's dance group Anadolu Ateşi - also known as Fire of Anatolia - wowed Chinese dignitaries in Beijing on Wednesday in the first performance of their China tour. The group will be staging 17 performances in 12 cities in China during January.
Can Ocak, a lead dancer with the group, which has a total of 120 dancers, told AA that this is their eighth time performing in China. Ocak added that they gave their first performance back in 2002 on the same stage, and was proud of the increasing interest in the group's performances.
The group gained a country-wide reputation after 800 million people tuned in to watch the televised performance during the Spring Gala of Chinese New Year in February last year.
The group's last performance is scheduled for January 19 in Shanghai.
