ANKARA
Journalists from several Macedonian media institutes and the press offices of the country’s most important institutions visited the Ankara headquarters of Turkey's Anadolu Agency on Tuesday.
Anadolu Agency’s international news chief editor Hasan Oymez welcomed the Macedonian delegation and gave a presentation of the agency's centennial vision to the group.
Oymez outlined the agency's plans to enlarge its network across the world as part of its 2020 centennial vision.
He explained the basic principles the agency was using to reach its target of "becoming one of the top five most influential news agencies in the world by 2020."
Oymez said that Anadolu Agency’s Balkan regional office was located in Sarajevo, in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“We have correspondents in each country in Balkans,” Oymez said, adding that the total number of Anadolu Agency employees in Balkan countries reaches 40.
Oymez said that Anadolu Agency was following the developments in Macedonia with two correspondents and a cameraman.
The agency currently broadcasts in Turkish, Arabic, English, Russian, Kurdish, French, Albanian and also collectively in Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian.
The agency has divided its global network into five main regions as part of its centennial vision; the Americas, Europe, Middle East-Africa, Asia-Caucasus and Asia-Pacific.
