The Dominican Republic's ambassador to Türkiye paid a visit to the headquarters of Anadolu on Tuesday.
Elvis Antonio Alam Lora was welcomed at the headquarters in the capital, Ankara, by Serdar Karagoz, Anadolu's President and CEO.
Hazal Duran, the strategic communications and international relations manager and Ogun Duru, the Global News Coordinator of Anadolu, were also present in the meeting.
For his part, Ambassador Lora said Ankara and Santa Domingo will mark 73 years of diplomatic relations in November.
Noting that they imported mainly medical and optical devices from Türkiye, he said they are well known for their tropical fruits, such as organic bananas and cigars.
He also said Dominicans are keen on Turkish culture, especially TV shows and programs.
Regarding tourism potential, he said some 10,000 people visited Türkiye in the first eight months of this year, although there are no direct flights between Türkiye and the Dominican Republic.
He added that this number could reach even more than 100,000 if there were direct flights carried out by Turkish Airlines.
Karagoz hailed the developing bilateral and trade relations between the countries. Hazal Duran made a presentation about Anadolu's activities.
