The International Model Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) concluded on Tuesday in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, with speakers stressing the role of youth diplomacy in addressing political, social, and economic challenges facing Muslim countries.

The high-level gathering was held at the Prime Minister’s Office, bringing together students, youth delegates, senior officials, diplomats, and international guests for dialogue and simulation exercises focused on unity, diplomacy, and sustainable development in the Islamic world.

National Assembly member Amna Batool and Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) President Taha Ayhan were among the key speakers at the event.

Ayhan told participants that youth diplomacy and multilateral engagement were becoming increasingly important, saying young leaders must take a more active role in shaping cooperation and collective responses across the Islamic world.

The summit featured a General Assembly simulation led by the ICYF team, with delegates presenting committee resolutions, delivering speeches and position statements, proposing amendments, debating policy issues, and voting on Model OIC resolutions before adopting final declarations.

A University's Cooperation Meeting followed, aimed at strengthening academic collaboration and institutional partnerships among participating universities and youth organizations.

The event concluded with a closing session and memorandum of understanding ceremony at the Prime Minister’s Office Auditorium. Addressing participants, Batool highlighted the government’s support for initiatives that promote youth empowerment, leadership development, and international cooperation.

Organizers said the summit reflected growing engagement by Pakistani youth and international partners, reinforcing the role of young people in advancing diplomacy, unity, and sustainable development across the Islamic world.
