Türkiye on Sunday said it grieved with the people of Vietnam and families of the victims who lost their lives in the capsizing of a tourist boat in the Southeast Asian nation.

Türkiye is "deeply saddened" over the loss of lives resulting from the accident, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

A tourist cruise boat carrying 53 people capsized Saturday in Vietnam's Ha Long Bay, killing at least 37 people, according to officials.

The boat was recovered and brought to shore early Sunday for investigation, according to Vietnam News.
