South Korean police seek arrest of journalist over 'false' report on Chinese spies
Police act after election commission files complaint against reporter

ANKARA
South Korean police on Tuesday sought an arrest warrant for a journalist accused of spreading false information about the arrest of 99 Chinese nationals at a National Election Commission (NEC) facility, according to Yonhap News Agency.
The report, published in January, claimed Chinese spies were detained during a joint South Korea-US military operation and transferred to a US base in Okinawa, where they allegedly confessed to election interference.
The NEC denied the claims and filed a police complaint, the news agency reported.
