Pakistan’s Sirbaz Khan ascends Mt. Everest without using supplementary oxygen
Khan has climbed 13 out of world’s 14 mountains higher than 8,000 meters

Pakistan’s Sirbaz Khan on Tuesday scaled the world’s tallest peak, Mt. Everest, without using supplementary oxygen, becoming the only second Pakistani to achieve the feat.
Khan, 35, who summited the 8,848-meter (29,029-foot) tall Mt. Everest for a second time, has already ascended 13 of a total of 14 peaks above 8,000 meters. Sajid Ali Sadpara was the first Pakistani mountaineer who climbed Mt. Everest without using supplementary oxygen in May 2023.
“Congratulations to Sirbaz Khan on successfully summiting Mount Everest without the use of supplemental oxygen,” said the Alpine Club of Pakistan, the country’s official mountaineering association, in a statement.
Khan was part of the "Imagine Nepal 2024 Everest Expedition" team, which included 14 international climbers and 18 Sherpas.
In 2019, he became the first Pakistani to summit Mt. Lhotse, the world’s fourth-highest mountain at 8,516 meters (27,940 feet), in Nepal, without the use of supplemental oxygen.
He then summited the 8,611-meter (28,251-feet) K2 in 2018 and the 8,163-meter (26,782-feet) Broad Peak in 2019.
In 2022, he scaled Mt. Anapurna, which stands 8,091 meters (26,545 feet) above sea level, the 8,035-meter (26,362-feet) Gasherbrum II, and Mt. Everest.
The only peak left for Khan is Shishapangma, the 14th-highest mountain in the world at 8,027 meters (26,335 feet) above sea level.
