Pakistan’s center-right party, which has emerged as the single largest party in the July 25 elections, shared a series of posts on Twitter in Turkish language about Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s phone call to the party chief Imran Khan.

The posts came after Erdogan congratulated Khan over the phone on Tuesday, calling his leadership an example for the Islamic world.

“President Erdogan congratulated Imran Khan over the phone,” Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) wrote on its official Twitter account.

“He [Erdogan] stressed the importance of further promoting ties between Turkey and Pakistan," it wrote in Turkish language.

“Imran Khan also thanked President Erdogan for his sentiments," it added.

The posts have been retweeted and liked hundreds of times, while Pakistani users responded to the posts in Turkish language and expressed their love for Turkey.

In the July 25 elections, the PTI, which emerged as the single largest party but fell short of simple majority in the National Assembly, will have to seek formal support from smaller parties or independents to form the next government.

The PTI has secured 116 seats of the National Assembly followed by Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) of the jailed ex-Premier, Nawaz Sharif, and center-left Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), which has grabbed 64 and 43 seats, respectively.

The five-party religious alliance Muttahida Majlis Amal (MMA) could win only 11 seats.
