Lavrov says Russia, Central Asia to focus on trade and economic relations at Dushanbe summit
Russian foreign minister says international issues also expected to be touched upon at October meeting

MOSCOW
Trade and economic relations will be the focus of discussions at the Russia-Central Asia summit to be held in Dushanbe in October, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday.
Speaking at a meeting of the Business Council under the Foreign Ministry in Moscow, Lavrov said international issues will also be on the agenda.
"We are meeting on the eve of the second Russia-Central Asia summit scheduled for October. It is planned that the event will take place in Dushanbe, as the CIS summit is being held there. And the heads of six states - Central Asia plus Russia - intend to discuss the entire range of interaction issues," he said.
Lavrov added that decisions and recommendations formulated by the Business Council would be useful "in the context of preparing for the upcoming high-level meeting."
