Australia on Friday said it disagrees with Israel's blockade of aid into Gaza.
"We disagree with the actions of the (Benjamin) Netanyahu government in the blockade of aid into Gaza. That is a principled position to take," said Foreign Minister Penny Wong said, according to Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
She said the sanctions were targeting two Israeli politicians who were involved in the "extremist settler project".
"We disagreed with the actions of these ministers in relation to the West Bank," she added.
The foreign minister said that Australians are "distressed" by humanitarian situation in Gaza.
She announced an additional $10 million in humanitarian aid for Gaza, affirming that Australia is committed to working with partners to help provide food and medical supplies to the region.
