MOSCOW

Polling stations have opened in Moscow for the three-day mayoral elections on Friday.

The vote will last until 8 p.m. local time on Sept. 10.

Residents of the capital can vote in four different ways -- online, using electronic terminals, in the traditional way at a polling station and at home.

Voters can cast their ballots across 2,200 polling stations.

Those who are unable to visit polling stations due to disabilities or health reasons can vote from home.

Five candidates are participating in the Moscow mayoral elections. The current mayor Sergey Sobyanin, lawmaker for the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Boris Chernyshov, lawmaker from the New People party Vladislav Davankov, a representative of the Communist Party Leonid Zyuganov and a lawmaker from the Fair Russia-Patriots-For Truth Party Dmitry Gusev.

Muscovites will also elect deputies of 13 municipalities of the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative districts of Moscow.
