UK unemployment rate 7.6 pct in July-September 2013

The jobless rate in the United Kingdom fell to 7.6 percent between July and September 2013, the country's statistics authority said.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) released Wednesday the UK's rate of unemployment for the July-September 2013 period.
The ONS announced the unemployment rate as 7.6 percent with a 0.2 percentage points decrease compared to the April-June 2013 period, which was recorded as the lowest rate in more than three years. The jobless rate in the UK stood at 7.7 percent between June and August 2013, and remained unchanged from the previous three-month period.
The number of unemployed people decreased by 48,000 in the mentioned period to 2.47 million in the UK.
In addition, in the July to September 2013 period, the employment rate for people aged 16 to 64 rose to 71.8 percent with 0.3 percentage points from April to June 2013, the ONS noted.
Moreover, the number of people claiming Jobseekers' Allowance decreased by 41,700 people to 1.31 million in October.
