NORTH SINAI (AA) - Two explosive charges went off in North Sinai on Friday, shortly before armored vehicles arrived in the area, the Egyptian television said.
No casualties were reported.
The army has yet to comment on the incident.
Earlier today, Egyptian army forces defused an explosive charge on the Sheikh Zuweid-Goura road in North Sinai.
Militants have stepped up attacks on police and army targets since the July 3 ouster of elected president Mohamed Morsi by the military, killing scores of police and army personnel.
The Egyptian army is currently carrying out what military experts are calling the largest military operation of its kind in Sinai in an effort to stamp out what it describes as "militancy and terrorism."
