Turkmen fleeing Syria exceeds one thousand
Turkmen Refugees in Syria brought to Turkey due to regional conflict
GAZIANTEP
Regional tension in the north of Syria, between the Islamic Front and the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) has caused more than a 1,000 Turkmens to flee to Turkey from the mostly Turkmen populated town of Jarabulus.
The rebels of the Islamic Front, the largest Islamist opposition alliance want to expel the ISIL, they accuse them of having committed violations against the local population, including murders and kidnappings. The number of Turkmen fleeing from the camps in the region is reported to exceed 1,104.
The refugees were taken to sport halls in towns in the southern Turkish province of Gaziantep as there were no vacancies in the refugee camps. It is reported there are hundreds of Syrian Turkmen waiting entry at the Turkish border.
