BISHKEK - Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines and Kyrgyzstan's state airlines company have set up a new joint venture.

PEGASUS AND KYRGYZ STATE AIRLINES JOIN FORCES FOR A NEW COMPANY

Pegasus has a 49 percent stake in the new company which is named the Kyrgyz Pegasus Airlines, or KRA.
The agreement between Pegasus and Kyrgyz state airlines company was signed on Tuesday.
Kyrgyzstan has no passenger planes suitable for international flights. Kyrgyz government plans to use Pegasus planes to launch international flights and also to start cheap domestic flights.
Kyrgyz Deputy Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov told the signing ceremony that joint venture meant start of a new era between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan, stating that the new airlines company would be a bridge between the two countries.
Under the agreement, Pegasus will allocate two planes for domestic flights of Kyrgyz state airlines company. The new joint venture KRA will start its own operations in Kyrgyzstan in November with five planes.
KRA will fly from Bishkek to Istanbul, Dubai, Seoul, Astana and Moscow.
