Turkey has decided to reactive its embassy in the Libyan capital of Tripoli starting from today in the light of the latest developments in this country.
Turkey's newly-appointed ambassador in Tripoli, Ali Kemal Aydin, accompanied by the new embassy personnel, departed from Ankara for Tunisia on Thursday, said a statement from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The diplomats would proceed from Tunisia to Tripoli on Friday, the statement noted.
On Thursday, diplomatic sources said that Aydin had been appointed as Turkey's new ambassador in Tripoli.
Salim Levent Sahinkaya, the former Turkish ambassador in the Libyan capital, had returned to Turkey in May.
