TOKYO - Tokyo Mosque's and Turkish Culture Center's Imam, Ensair Yenturk, told A.A. correspondent that Tokyo Mosque not only served as a place of worship but at the same time social activities were carried out there as a culture center.
Yenturk said they hosted fast breaking dinner for 150 people every day since last year, adding that particularly Turkish meals were served there.
He said non-Muslim Japans also attended fast-breaking dinner.
Yenturk said the mosque met many needs of the Japanese Muslims and at the same time many scientific meetings and conferences were organized at the mosque.
Yenturk said the sermons were made in Japanese, Turkish and English at the mosque, "this is what discriminates Tokyo mosque from the other mosques," he noted.
Yenturk said non-Muslim Japans attended particularly the Friday sermons.
He said Tokyo Mosque was constructed by Turkey in the Ottoman-Turkish architecture and one of the unique works of art in architectural sense.
