ISTANBUL - A Turkish banker, who acts as the general manager and board member of Citibank A.S., has been appointed as Citibank's Country Officer for Turkey.

FIRST TURKISH COUNTRY HEAD IN CITIBANK

Serra Akcaoglu will be Citibank Turkey's first "Turkish Country Officer", while she will carry on with her duties as the general manager and board member of Citibank A.S., a written statement from the bank said on Tuesday.
With such appointment, Akcaoglu has become one of the 6 women country heads out of a total of 92 country executives of Citigroup worldwide.
Akcaoglu's predecessor Steve Bideshi, who has worked as the Country Officer for Turkey for the past 5 years, will work as a adviser for the Finance Ministry and Central Bank of Trinidad & Tobago from now on, Citibank's statement said.  
Serra Akcaoglu started working in the banking sector in 1986. After 14 years of experience in Manufacturer's Hanover Bank, Chemical Bank and Kocbank, Akcaoglu joined Citibank in 2000.
